This room gets you ready for two Adobe exams. You take them whenever you're ready, on your own dime, and the certificate is yours for three years.

How to read a night

Every night on this site is built the same way, so once you've done one you know how to do all of them.

  1. What a complete project looks likeThe finished thing, described so plainly you can hold your own work up next to it and see what's missing. Read this first. Read it again when you think you're done.
  2. The pathNumbered steps. No padding. If you already know the software, this is all you need.
  3. If it goes sidewaysThe things that go wrong, and what to do about each one. Skip it if nothing's wrong. It's there when something is.
  4. CheckpointA list. Every box, or it isn't done. You check yourself.
  5. What this coversThe exam objective numbers. So you always know why you're doing what you're doing.

The shape of the semester

Two short nights to get oriented. Eleven nights of Photoshop. Eleven nights of Premiere. Winter break to study. Four nights in January to take practice exams, patch what's weak, and register for the real thing.

Photoshop comes first on purpose. Layers, masks, and non-destructive editing are the same ideas in Premiere with different names, so you learn them once.
